Education is complex, made more so in Canada because under our Constitution, legislation and regulation, it is the separate responsibility of each province and territory. The federal government has a legitimate interest in the learning of Canadians and cooperates with the provinces and territories in a number of ways to promote shared goals and/or policy objectives. There is no single source of information about education in Canada.

Education Policy in Canada
For those new to Canada or enquiring from outside the country the Council
of Ministers of Education, Canada offers education@canada,
a collection of useful resources and web sites. CMEC also offers Education in Canada, a comprehensive overview of the Canadian education system.

Studying in Canada (International Students)
- Provided by Industry Canada and developed in collaboration with the Association
of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) and the Association
of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC), Canada's
Campus Connection promotes the on-line credit courses of over
75 institutions.
- Studying
in Canada, provided by the federal department of Citizenship
and Immigration, is a good starting point for foreign students who wish
to study in Canada at any level of the education system. It provides important
information about eligibility and documentation required as well s how to
make applications.
- Information for International Student is a source of
answers to questions asked by international students. Prepared by the Association
of Universities and Colleges of Canada that represents 93 public and not
for profit degree granting colleges and universities, the web site provides
links to each of its member institutions.
- Presented by the Canadian Bureau for International Education, Why
Study in Canada? provides ten top reasons for studying in Canada,
information about starting the process as well as a web directory of sites
for information about educational opportunities and financial awards for

Employment in Education in Canada
- Academic360.com offers a large collection of Internet resources for academic job hunter.

- The Chronicle
of Higher Education Career Network is a product of the Chronicle
of Higher Education, an online weekly news service for college
and university faculty members and administrators.
- Diversified
Global Education is a teacher recruitment agency with offices
in Winnipeg, Canada and Auckland, New Zealand, and with school contacts
in Thailand, Columbia, and Korea.
- Education
Canada Network provides a service to both employers and job
seekers for positions in the education sector. Its database of posted positions
is searchable by criteria that include kind of position and geographic area.

- Workopolis:
Education is a popular search site with a section dedicated
to education. It includes public and private sector positions in education
and training.
- Ontario Education Services Corporation is a non-profit agency established in 2002 by all school boards in Ontario to provide Police Record Check services. Ontario Regulation 521/01 requires school boards to collect police records from all employees and service providers who have direct and regular contact with students. International Opportunities
- Careers Without Borders is an interactive website devoted to the "employment needs of international development, charitable and not-for-profit organizations, and the professionals these groups employ." Positions for various kinds of education specialists are often listed, both for jobs in Canada and abroad.
Scholarships and Financial Awards
CEA does not provide financial assistance to students.
Students looking for scholarships should contact the Department of the
university they will be attending. Most scholarships, bursaries and other
financial awards are administered directly by the individual colleges and
universities. Links to colleges, CEGEPS (in Québec) and universities
