CEA's 2009 Education Research Review

This is the second annual year-end review of education research that has been featured on the CEA website and in the Bulletin, our monthly newsletter. It summarizes, by theme, notable reports, briefs and studies, identifying trends and highlighting areas of consensus, tension, and discrepancy. Also included are recommendations to related articles from Education Canada, CEA’s flagship magazine. We trust you will find it useful for your work, and encourage you to share it with colleagues.

Education Canada Winter 2009-2010

Our latest issue features a collection of breathtaking photos in the article, Digital Storytelling: Preserving a Cultural Tradition (PDF). This story recaps how a group of Canadian educators traveled to a small village in Tanzania, armed with digital cameras, which they placed in the hands of local villagers to complement and enhance their storytelling culture. A special thank you to Jeff Young of the Village Galleries project, who agreed to share his work with us.

The 2009 Whitworth Forum - Event Recap



Dr. Joel Westheimer (2009 winner of the CEA Whitworth Award for Education Research) participated in a panel discussion alongside national and Nova Scotian educational leaders who offered their perspectives in response to his Whitworth lecture.
